Michael LO introduced the experience of EPC Solutions in the whole process of BIM application and smart city implementation in the Mainland, and the concept of development in Hong Kong to Mr. Tse. We hope to contribute to the integration of the Greater Bay Area in the development of innovative technology as a Hong Kong people.

Background: Hong Kong is currently committed to the development of smart city construction, including the promotion of construction industry innovation and technology application, hoping to reduce costs, shorten the construction period, strengthen project management, prevent project delays, overruns and quality problems, and cope with the aging of the industry. Same as the informatization construction in other industries, in order to effectively promote the construction industry transformation, the government/employer/owner must start to set the requirements abd standards, invest resources and provide support.

The government has introduced many policies, measures and resources to promote the development of innovation and technology in the construction industry, including the requirement that BIM technology must be applied in public works projects of more than RMB 30 million since 2018. However, the ideal BIM application is to cover the entire process of the project and it requires that most companies in the project use it.
