EPC solution Smart Site Safety System (4S) assists large-scale engineering projects in Hong Kong
The Development Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government will require a strict Smart Site Safety System (4S) to be implemented in all government funding projects after mid- 2023. The requirements cover several smart devices and software applications, including smart wearable devices, smart locks, AI behavioral cameras, confined space monitoring, central consoles (CMP) and mobile app to provide the highest level of safety measures across Hong Kong construction sites.
Under this initiatives，EPC Solutions recently provided several smart devices in Hong Kong projects. To name a few, these include smart wearable devices for monitoring health status of workers and AI cameras installed at key locations for observe dangerous act; the use of smart locks systems to enforce site control; confined space monitoring systems is used to protect workers, it usually includes gas sensors, CCTV and face recognition control gate. The core of the system is the AI central console (CMP) that integrates various Smart devices and systems to achieve centralized management and monitoring of the construction site.
EPC solution can improve system application performance in many aspects. First, for network construction to support Smart equipment on the construction site, you can choose unified construction or independent construction, depending on the actual situation of each project for
design. Secondly, most current CMPs are only responsible for integrating data. The technical paths of each Smart system are different, making integration difficult. We can achieve unified management by establishing an IoT platform. Third, most current CMP designs lack an early warning center to centrally manage early warning data from different devices. Finally, based on CMP integrating a large amount of data, artificial intelligence can be used to make predictions and timely send data, alarms and warning information to relevant responsible persons.
